Zoya NOTD

MyOwnJudge Zoya Nail Polish
I've been getting quite intimate with the Zoya Intimate Collection. The colors are a perfect segue from winter to spring - pastels, creams, shimmer, and subtle pops of color. Yes please!

My nails are in a state of attrocity. I don't know if it's a lack of vitamins, care, mixture of both, or if they're just mad at me. Everytime I get to any resemblance of growth and legth, they all go through an apocalyptic fervor and snap, crackle, and pop down to nubs! Ugh!

I tried to salvage some nail shots in between, and think I will use falsies to swatch the other colors waiting to be photographed.

A Zoya Halloween

Zoya, one of what I consider the "blue chip" nail polish companies is getting into the Halloween mood. Their video is polish having fun.

What color polish will you be sporting for Halloween, or are you more of a faux nail gal?

Last of the Six

As promised, here are the last of the photos of the six NOTDs from the Zoya Flash color collection. The colors are bright summery shades that make me think 'this is what the nail polish version of a bag of Skittles would look like.' The shades just evoke happiness.

Zoya Nail Polish - Dana Zoya Nail Polish - Dana

Dana is a grown up bubble gum pink. It's safe enough for work and flashy enough for the bright color hungry fashionista inside of you.

Zoya Nail Polish - Dana

Zoya Nail Polish - Maura Zoya Nail Polish - Maura

Maura is a bright red that has two great features: it doesn't stain your fingers and it goes on creamy with no streaks.

Zoya Nail Polish - Maura

All of the polishes in this collection are amazingly smooth and need two coats to look exactly like the bottle promises it will. That's really no surprise though, because Zoya is notorious for delivering on their promises.

Another Zoya NOTD

As promised, here are some more images of the six NOTDs from the Zoya Flash color collection. Again, this was during a time of my nails requiring mending so I used falsies to swatch colors. I am loving these bright colors and have the six on quick rotate for summer manis and pedis.

Zoya Nail Polish - Robyn Zoya Nail Polish - Robyn

Robyn is a bright light blue. Does that make sense? It's a pumped up upgrade to Yummy.

Zoya Nail Polish - Robyn

Zoya Nail Polish - Perrie Zoya Nail Polish - Perrie

Perrie is a sweet lavender, which again, is an amped up upgrade of a past Zoya polish. Want to take a wild guess which one? Malia! If you look at the photo on the right you will see that the colors inside the bottle were settling into a lava like effect. Made me giddy because the dark blue brings me back to my kindergarten days of figuring out that red and blue make purple. Just me then?

Zoya Flash NOTD

As promised, here are two of six NOTDs from the Zoya Flash color collection. This was during a time of my nails requiring mending so I used falsies to swatch colors. I'm loving the collection as a whole. My only qualm being that a top coat is necessary to maintain the shine. It doesn't dry matte, but it doesn't dry shiny either. Then again, almost everyone uses top coats anyhoo, so what's the problem, right?

Zoya Nail Polish - Jancyn Zoya Nail Polish - Jancyn

Jancyn my favorite shade of tangerine orange. Creamy and mostly opaque in one coat, but optimally two coats are necessary. Flash on right and none on left.

Zoya Nail Polish - Jancyn

Zoya Nail Polish - Jolene Zoya Nail Polish - Jolene

Jolene is a cute bubble gum pink that is unlike any pink shade I've ever had. It's also a darn good true to bottle color match.

Zoya in a Flash

Zoya Nail Polish

Summer is nothing without an appropriate amount of bright colors on your toes and fingers. Anyone too afraid to have a neon orange or a bold bright blue should be ashamed! The only times you may hide is on interviews. (Once you're hired, rock those neons ;)!!)

I was holding out on my Zoya swatches. The flash collection is nothing short of my dream come true.

I'm rocking Jancyn on my toes as I type this, and the NOTD shots will be arriving shortly. You should grab up these colors ASAP with the Zoya Nail Polish Exchange campaign. It's like Back2MAC with nail polishes (*and a $3.50 shipping cost per bottle). Check out the details here. Hurry - it ends on June 30!

Tardy to the Party

MOJ Covers Mercedes Benz New York Fashion WeekTardy is the kindest word that I can attach to my timing in regards to Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. Here's the catch up (and if the following schedule of posts is too many too often for y'all, let me know!).

I got the ball rolling during the actual Fashion Week by doing a guest post for Miss Brittany over at Clumps of Mascara about the Vessel by Lois runway presentation, and trust me when I say that I could've went to just that first show and would have heard all the buzzwords and trends right away.

With scheduling and location conflicts for many shows, you try to make one person act like as many clones at one time as possible. Want to know a true story? There were two shows going on within an hour of each other and next door to each other. I went to the first show to cover the backstage prepwork, snuck out through the side staircase (no one could leave because they were doing a test run of the show), ran around the block (with a camera, notepad, and no jacket), only to go into another show, cover the backstage prepwork there, only to return to the first show to catch the runway, and then back to the second. I probably would've attempted a lot more fashion herculean tasks similar to this if they were closer together, but that was not the case.

So of course, it is with great sadness that I admit to you that I only got to see Toni's backstage prepwork and not the runway show. Too bad too, because the dresses were phenomenal. The collection was a bit broken in half with soft, sheer fabric in shades of gray, and some dark pieces, with black and gold. Check out all the runway photos from the show here.

For this show, MAC provided the cosmetic creations, Zoya for nails, and hair was styled by the peeps from Cutler Hair Salons.

The look? A feminine, ethereal, "all about gold" theme. Once you look at the line, you'll notice that the makeup matches the collection well.

Zoya NOTDs

PhotobucketWatch out now as I get ultra colorful to keep the rainy day gloom away. Actually, I'm a big fan of the rain. I find it to be quite calming, and just awesome. But the rest of y'all that like to scream about the sky falling each time raindrops fall? Pansies!

Here are some Zoya NOTDs to keep up with my nail-a-day challenge. I cheated a little for a couple of days by wearing the same polish for two days, but I'm back on the straight and narrow, I promise!

Paz

Ali

Ali and Paz were both weirdly a difficult time to photograph. The pictures kept coming out more "radioactive" than the color was in real life. The colors are both very bright, but in a yummy way. I couldn't get enough of Ali.

Want a Zoya to yourself? You can get them at $7 a bottle here.

I adored all these colors. All the photos on the left are with flash, and on the right without. Every single cream applied like a dream and the colors were all equally unique and vibrant. Seriously? I can't get enough of my Zoya fix.

Which was your fave? Know a color I MUST try?
