The Essence of the Ruby Room

I came across the brand Ruby Room while walking around the commerce section of The Artist Summit in Miami. I was curious about the products from far, as I saw a table full of sprays amidst a hall of cosmetics. When I walked over I was introduced to the brand.

"Launched in February 2009, we are thrilled to share with you Ruby Room’s Aroma Infused Flower & Gem Essence Collection and accompanying service, Aroma Infused Flower & Gem Essence Journey, to help you manifest the life you envision.

The collection consists of ten sprays – seven of them created to balance and harmonize each of our seven main chakras (energy fields) and three essence boosters. Each spray is infused with specially chosen pure essential oils that further enhance the benefits of the flower and gem essence blend while taking you along on an energizing, inspiring, grounding, elevating or calming sensory journey.
"

After a bit more research, I found out that the magic doesn't stop at the sprays. Ruby Room provides guest services (when traveling), spa services, and other products as well. Check out the website for more info.

When I was speaking to the representative for the brand at the Summit, I was told that these sprays, made of essential oils are preferred by designers and makeup artists to sort of "clear the energy" during shoots and in spaces. That makes a lot of sense when you think about people being funky and their mood creeping over into you. I've certainly had those moments. Talking about chakras was a little over my head but, it made sense that certain aspects of each spray would do what promised because of the ingredients. We already use lavender to relax, chamomile to soothe, mint to focus/awaken etc. So without a chakra education you can still see why people would prefer them right?

Being that the sprays are made with essential oils and are natural, you can use this as a room spray, spray around yourself, or spray into a tub when taking a bath.

My only disclaimer to this product is that you should check if any of the ingredients rub you the wrong way first. I was enamored with the sprays but had a minor allergic reaction to one. Even still, I'd buy another (without my pesky allergen).

Have you tried this?

Artist Summit Miami

PhotobucketHow could I continue and introduce brands and events, if I didn't at least share what my new camera captured in Florida?

While smaller than the NY Makeup Show in size for commerce, the lessons and seminars were of the most value. As I continue with new knowledge and inspiration, I hope you enjoy the images of the brands that both break through into the market to continued jaw dropping reactions, as well as the brands who never fail to amaze year in and year out, from quality to customer service.

The best part of these shows for me? Realizing that this is much more than just makeup. The search for the perfect product to accentuate and work well with every person's beauty is evident from the product selection, to the dedication from even the creators (who are almost always present at each show!).

I'll be doing some in depth reviews and intros to some brands, while others, the pictures will be worth plenty words.

Floridian Adventures

PhotobucketRemember when I was traveling south to the state of Florida? Well I got some travel photos for ya!

I always love staying with locals when traveling, because I feel like there is no book or guide that will show you the city like a local can. I try to make that a fact when people visit NY, and my girl Brit from ClumpsofMascara did not disappoint either! She had the double duty of showing me Miami and Orlando, and between the Artist Summit and my freak catch of a cold, she had her job cut out for her.

Being a city gal, I'm not used to certain things. City gal might have been an understatement - being a NY gal, I'm not used to quiet streets, having to drive to stores, and worst of all not having things open until all hours of the night. (Yes my city has spoiled me - suck it up!). I'm sure all my comments might have gotten on B's Southern nerves... but I wasn't kicked out of a car or a house the whole time, so it was a success!

MOJ at the Artist Summit in MIA!

I'm in Florida!!

Anyone been listening to LMFAO? They sing about being in Miami, and that's definitely what is running through my head all day. I'm hanging out with my girl Brittany from Clumps of Mascara and would love to meet fellow readers and bloggers in the Miami and/or Orlando area.

Hit up the twitter or the e-mail to let me know if you have places for me to go or would like to meet up. Also - anyone want to go to the summit conmigo? Let me know too! I have just enough passes for a couple of folks to come and hobnob!

Check out the event details here. If you can't make it this week, next week they are heading over to Chicago.

Read on to hear the song I keep hearing internally.
